Danielle & Zach's Wedding Day

Nothing but smiles and enthusiasm from Danielle and Zach on their wedding day. These two were ready to get the party started and I couldn't have been more on board!

I love a summer wedding, especially in August. We had a foggy morning, slight drizzle and then a complete downpour of rain once I arrived at their venue. We discussed our options for inclimate weather in advance but whether you're superstitious or not, every bride knows rain is good luck on your wedding day! Depending on the culture, there are so many reasons rain is considered a good thing on your wedding day. My all time favorite? - "It symbolizes the last tears a bride will shed for the rest of her life."

The rain gave up JUST in time for their ceremony *insert happy dance here* ! Right by the dock overlooking Lake Harmony, it was peaceful and inviting. Danielle and Zach chose to keep their ceremony short and sweet which was true testimony to how excited they were to begin their new chapter together.

Nick's Lake House was a clear reflection (no pun intended) of these newlyweds - welcoming, laid back, fun and all the good vibes you can dream up. Their private room off the deck was such a cozy spot for this couple to celebrate with 35-40 of their closest family and friends. A wrap around of large windows gave their guests a beautiful view of the lake, and gave me some great opportunities to utilize that gorgeous natural lighting - probably my favorite detail about their venue!

Shades of purple gracefully on display for their special day and I couldn't help but think of the symbolism behind the color - royalty. What bride and groom don't want to feel like royalty on their big day??

With all the love in the air I was sure the room was bound to burst.. and in a sense, it did! Zach and Danielle had big news to share - they're about to be a family of 4! With the gender of this sweet bundle tightly under wraps, guests were too anxious to wait any longer for the reveal (and of course I was DYING to know too!).

IT'S A BOY!!!!!

Possibly my favorite part of this wedding day was the cake cutting. I've always believed the cutting of the wedding cake was one of the most anticipated moments of a wedding day. There are so many scenarios that can take place.. are they going to gingerly feed each other a bite? or will we see some fast action ducking for cover?? I received the inside scoop from Mother of the Bride, Sandy, that both were gonna totally GO FOR IT and I don't think anyone was disappointed in the turn out!

Weddings go by so fast that it's so wonderful when you get to see the couple spend so much of their day together and with loved ones. From sweet moments during the ceremony, the surprise of a gender reveal and a lively dance floor, I'd say each moment was pretty perfect for these two.

I found a unique spot after the ceremony to capture some portraits of the happy couple. It gave me all the feels of a courtyard garden entrance while still allowing for a view of the lake.

Congratulations Danielle and Zach! Your wedding day was so much fun and I'm so happy for you both! Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of it!
